MAY 4, 2004: GOVERNOR JEB BUSH, ten years to the date of Governor Chiles' signature of House Bill 591 (Rosewood Reparations), traveled to Rosewood, Florida to dedicate its historical marker sponsored by the Real Rosewood Foundation, Inc. and the Florida Department of State. Since the dedication, numerous attempts to remove the marker have been made by unknown individuals but it remains in place and intact to this day. Today, only a single house survives in the Rosewood location – from a community of almost five hundred people with homes, stores, and churches.

The Real Rosewood Foundation, Inc. would like to give a special “THANKS!” to Florida Trust and Historic Preservation for co-sponsoring the Rosewood Historic Marker.
